Nate shares an apartment with Ben. Ben’s girlfriend, Sadie, 23, stays over every weekend, and she can’t stand Nate, or says she can’t. To her he’s rude and cocky, always wandering around in a towel, always saying the thing nobody else will.
What Nate says most often is that Ben is boring. The description’s sting is in its last line: Sadie knows he’s right.
The towel detail says plenty about Nate: he treats the flat as his own and doesn’t adjust for a weekend guest. The sleepovers give the series its rhythm, with Sadie back in the apartment each weekend whether Nate likes it or not.
It’s a friction story. Instead of a slow seduction, the pitch is two adults who argue, with the boyfriend as the obstacle neither of them mentions. All three are grown adults sharing a flat, and nobody is related to anybody, which sets it apart from the step-family titles that fill much of the catalogue.

That’s what the opener gives you: two people half-dressed in a space they’re forced to share, with Ben’s girlfriend and Ben’s roommate in the same kitchen. It plays unblurred and complete for anyone, logged in or not.
It’s one of the more revealing open first parts we’ve watched, which is still a long way from nudity. The outfits do the work here, not the camera.
Lingerie in My Roommate’s Girlfriend, and the limits of what we saw
No nudity in part 1. Sadie’s bra is visible under the open shirt, and the roommate goes shirtless, and that’s where it stops. Lingerie is the ceiling.
We’ve never found nudity in an open series’ first part, and this one keeps that record intact, even if it comes nearer than most.

It’s a skip if you’re after a guarantee of nudity, since we can only vouch for lingerie. It’s also a skip if a story built around a friend’s girlfriend makes you uncomfortable, because Ben’s place in the setup is the whole source of tension.
